Lewis Banks
is a designer and maker of enamel artworks. His work ranges
from jewellery to large three-dimensional sculptural pieces.
Based on the Firth of Forth in the coastal village of Aberdour,
much of Lewis’s work is inspired by nature and the
sea.
The pieces are created by multiple sequential firings of
transparent and opaque glass enamels on copper resulting
in striking “colour textures”.
Lewis says, “I
am fascinated by how the organic world can be represented
and recreated in these inorganic materials”.
His work is on show in a number of commercial galleries
as well as in his own studio, Gallery 8 in Aberdour, and
he is happy to accept commissions.
